The George Washington University Hospital Heliport is a rooftop landing facility opened in 2019. It serves the hospital's Level I Trauma Center, allowing for the rapid transport of critically ill and injured patients from across the region.
The construction of this helipad marked a significant enhancement in the District's emergency medical capabilities, following a change in local laws. It enables life-saving air ambulance access directly to one of the city's premier medical institutions in Foggy Bottom.
