Washington Park is a massive urban park covering over 410 acres in the hills west of downtown Portland. It serves as a cultural and recreational hub, housing some of the city's most famous attractions within its forested landscape.
The park is home to the Oregon Zoo, the Portland Japanese Garden, the International Rose Test Garden, the Hoyt Arboretum, and the World Forestry Center. It also features playgrounds, memorials, and miles of hiking trails.
Visitors can spend a full day exploring the various museums and gardens, hike the Wildwood Trail, play tennis or soccer, or simply enjoy a picnic in the lush green spaces. The park is easily accessible via the MAX light rail and a free shuttle service.
