About

Historic Downtown Theatre

The Warner Theatre is a historic theater located in downtown Washington, D.C. Originally opened in 1924 as the Earle Theatre, it was a palace for vaudeville and silent movies. The theater features a spectacular lobby with gold leaf ceilings and chandeliers, reflecting the opulence of the Roaring Twenties.

After a major restoration in the early 1990s, the Warner Theatre reopened as a premier venue for concerts, comedy shows, and Broadway productions. It is also famous for hosting the annual Washington Ballet performance of The Nutcracker. The theater is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
