New York City, New York
The Brooklyn Bridge is one of the oldest suspension bridges in the US, connecting Manhattan and Brooklyn. It is a National Historic Landmark.
The gothic stone towers, the web of steel cables, and the panoramic skyline views.
Walk or bike across the bridge (approx 1.1 miles). Take photos of the skyline.
Sunrise is magical and empty. Sunset is beautiful but crowded.
Free. Accessible from near City Hall (Manhattan) or DUMBO/Brooklyn Heights (Brooklyn).
None on the bridge. Vendors sell water/souvenirs at the entrances.
Wear comfortable shoes. In winter, it can be very windy and cold. Watch out for the bike lane (now separated, but still be careful).
Brooklyn Bridge Park, DUMBO, and South Street Seaport.
