Seattle, Washington
Lake Union is a freshwater lake located entirely within the city limits of Seattle. It is a major hub for recreation and commerce, known for its houseboats, including the one made famous by the movie 'Sleepless in Seattle.' The lake offers opportunities for kayaking, paddleboarding, and sailing, with seaplanes frequently taking off and landing on its waters.
On the north shore lies Gas Works Park, a unique public park built on the site of a former gasification plant. The park preserves pieces of the industrial plant as sculptures and offers one of the best vantage points for viewing the lake and the downtown skyline.
