Los Angeles, California
Dockweiler State Beach is a popular destination in Los Angeles County, known for being one of the few beaches in L.A. that allows bonfires. It features a three-mile shoreline and is located directly beneath the flight path of LAX, making it a unique spot for plane spotting.
The beach is famous for its fire rings for bonfires. It also houses the Dockweiler RV Park, the only RV campground on the beach in L.A. County. The Marvin Braude Bike Trail runs through it.
Enjoy beach bonfires in designated fire rings, go RV camping, swim, surf, sunbathe, and ride bikes along the path. Hang gliding lessons are available at the nearby training hill.
Summer evenings are popular for bonfires. Arrive early to claim a fire pit as they are first-come, first-served.
Beach access is free. Parking fees apply ($7-$13 depending on the season and time). Open daily from sunrise to 10:00 PM (bonfires must be out by then).
