Chicago, Illinois
This entry refers to the heliport associated with the former Children's Memorial Hospital in Chicago's Lincoln Park neighborhood. The hospital moved to Streeterville in 2012 and was renamed the Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago.
The original Lincoln Park facility has been redeveloped. The active heliport for the hospital is now located at its new downtown campus (see Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital Heliport).
During its operation, the heliport served as a critical access point for transporting critically ill pediatric patients to the hospital for specialized care.
The heliport was a vital component of the hospital's trauma and emergency services, saving countless lives before the institution's relocation.
