San Antonio, Texas
The Japanese Tea Garden is a breathtaking oasis built in a former limestone quarry. It features a lush year-round garden with floral displays, shaded walkways, stone bridges, and a spectacular 60-foot waterfall.
The garden's history is tied to the Jingu family, who lived in the park and maintained the gardens for decades. The restored Jingu House now serves as a cafe, offering light refreshments with a view of the koi-filled ponds.
After years of decline, the garden underwent a major restoration to repair the ponds and pathways. It is now a beloved landmark and a Registered Texas Historic Landmark, celebrated for its unique beauty and history.
