Overton Park is a 342-acre public park in Midtown Memphis, established in 1901. It is a cultural and recreational hub, home to several major city institutions and the Old Forest State Natural Area.
The park contains the Memphis Zoo, the Memphis Brooks Museum of Art, and the Levitt Shell, where Elvis Presley gave his first paid concert. The Old Forest is a rare remnant of old-growth forest in an urban setting.
Visitors can explore the museums, attend outdoor concerts at the Shell, hike through the Old Forest trails, or enjoy a picnic on the Greensward. The park also features a golf course and two playgrounds.
