Columbus, Georgia
Schiller Park is the second-oldest park in Columbus and the centerpiece of the historic German Village neighborhood. Established in 1867, the park celebrates the area's German heritage, most notably with a prominent statue of the poet Friedrich von Schiller, dedicated in 1891.
The 23-acre park is a beloved community gathering space featuring a fishing pond, floral gardens, and the 'Umbrella Girl' fountain. It is also a cultural venue, hosting outdoor theatre productions by the Actors' Theatre of Columbus during the summer months in its amphitheater.
