About

Historic Union Depot

The El Paso Amtrak Station, located in the historic Union Depot, is an architectural gem and a key transportation hub in downtown El Paso. Designed by the renowned architect Daniel Burnham and completed in 1906, the station is a stunning example of Neoclassical architecture. It was the first train station in the United States built specifically to house international traffic, serving as a gateway between the U.S. and Mexico.

Today, the station serves Amtrak's Sunset Limited and Texas Eagle lines, connecting travelers to major cities across the country. The beautifully restored building features a grand rotunda, intricate details, and a bell tower, standing as a testament to the golden age of rail travel and El Paso's rich history as a transportation crossroads.
