Thunderbird Conservation Park is a 1,185-acre desert preserve dedicated to protecting the natural environment of the Hedgpeth Hills. It offers a network of trails for hiking, biking, and horseback riding with stunning views of the valley.
The park features over 15 miles of trails ranging from easy to difficult. Highlights include the views from the summits and the opportunity to see desert wildlife.
Hike to the top of the hills for panoramic views, go mountain biking on the rugged trails, or enjoy a picnic at one of the ramadas.
October through April offers the best weather for hiking. Sunrise and sunset are particularly beautiful times to visit.
