Fort McPherson Heliport was part of the historic U.S. Army installation in southwest Atlanta. While the base has been closed and redeveloped (largely into Tyler Perry Studios), the heliport designation remains a reference to the site's military history and aviation infrastructure.
Fort McPherson served as the headquarters for the U.S. Army Forces Command before its closure in 2011. The grounds are now a hub for film production.
