About

Central Ohio Aviation Gateway

John Glenn Columbus International Airport (CMH) is the primary commercial airport serving Columbus and central Ohio. Located six miles east of downtown, it was formerly known as Port Columbus International Airport before being renamed in 2016 to honor astronaut and Senator John Glenn. The airport features a modern terminal with three concourses and serves millions of passengers annually.

History and Future

The airport has a rich history dating back to 1929, when it was a stop on the first transcontinental air-rail service. Today, it is a key economic driver for the region, offering numerous nonstop flights. A new terminal project is underway to replace the existing facility, promising to further enhance the passenger experience and support the region's growth.
