The Baltimore Basilica, officially the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, was the first Roman Catholic cathedral built in the United States.
Designed by Benjamin Henry Latrobe, the architect of the U.S. Capitol, it is considered a masterpiece of Neoclassical architecture. It features a stunning dome and light-filled interior.
