The Soldiers and Sailors Monument is an iconic limestone memorial located in the center of Monument Circle. Standing 284 feet tall, it honors Hoosier veterans of the Civil War, the Revolutionary War, the War of 1812, the Mexican War, and the Spanish-American War.
Visitors can ascend to the observation deck via stairs or an elevator for panoramic views of the city skyline. The monument's base houses the Colonel Eli Lilly Civil War Museum, which tells the story of Indiana's contribution to the war effort.
