The San Jacinto Monument is located at the San Jacinto Battleground State Historic Site in La Porte, near Houston. It commemorates the decisive battle of the Texas Revolution.
Standing 567 feet tall, it is the world's tallest masonry column. Visitors can take an elevator to the observation deck for views of the Houston Ship Channel and the battlefield.
