About

Overview

Naval Air Station Richmond was a major World War II Lighter-Than-Air (blimp) base. It was home to three massive wooden hangars, which were among the largest wooden structures ever built, until their destruction by a hurricane and fire in 1945. The site now houses the Gold Coast Railroad Museum and Zoo Miami.
